The Obion County Fairgrounds is buzzing with activity as officials prepare to kick off the annual event Monday.
The grand opening will begin at 5 p.m. at the back porch stage and special fair supporters will be added to the Hall of Fame.
The Myers International Midway will open at 6. The poultry show, followed by the annual auction, will be held in the Hunter Miller Livestock Barn and area youth will show off their duck calling skills in the Whitney Cozart Pavilion, both at 6.
The Teen Miss and Fairest of the Fair queens will be crowned at the Reelfoot Bank Stage at the grandstand beginning at 7, while Fair Karaoke Idol, a new event this year, is held on the back porch stage.
The nightly events will wrap up at 10 when the fair tries to give away $1,000 to a lucky ticketholder. If the owner of the first ticket drawn is not present, $500 will be given away.
Admission to the fair is $6 for those ages 13 and older, while children ages 6-12 can enter for $4. Children 5 and younger will be admitted for free. Season passes may be purchased for $20 each.
The fair runs through Aug. 16.
