Tennessee State Parks offer a variety of activities and events throughout the summer.
Through Sept. 30, Reelfoot Lake State Park will offer its scenic boat cruises.
Participants will enjoy the fascinating world of Reelfoot Lake from the comfort of a pontoon boat while naturalists discuss the history and wonders of this natural phenomenon. Cypress trees, a variety of aquatic plants and flowers and hundreds of birds — including herons and the occasional American Bald Eagle — all create an exhilarating cruise.
Interpretive cruises depart at 9 a.m. daily (weather permitting). The tour is approximately three hours.
Special afternoon cruises are provided for groups of 10 or more, Mondays through Fridays, between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and sunset. Reservations must be made in advance.
Short, one-hour cruises are offered on weekends and holidays at 1:30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. Reservations are required.
For reservations or more information, call (731) 253-9652.
