Completed arrangements are being announced for Russell Anthony “Russ” Stanavage Jr., 67, of Union City, who died 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Justin Cook and the Rev. Ruth Green officiated. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Dale Ross, Steve Ladd, Teddy Ladd, Gary Hagan, Todd Isbell and Wes Walden.
He was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Hartford, Conn., son of Catherine (Aieta) Stanavage of Union City and the late Russell Anthony Stanavage Sr. He married the former Betty Ladd Sept. 14, 2004. She survives. He was a retired district sales manager for Michelin Tire Company in Hartford, where he was in charge of sales, marketing, advertising and promotions for the entire Michelin tire product line. He was an avid golfer.
He is also survived by two daughters, Debra Neeb of New Milford, Conn., and Deanna Varljen of Richmond, Va.; his stepdaughter, Sandy Ellison of Rives; his stepson, Elvest Cook of Oakland, Miss.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandson.
