Completed arrangements are being announced for Jim Hartz, 56, Fulton’s fire chief and ambulance service director. He died Aug. 4, 2010, at Parkway Regional Hospital’s emergency room.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Shijo Vadakumkara officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home 3-8 p.m. today and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the hour of services.
He was born Aug. 11, 1953, in Hancock, N.Y., son of Joan C. (Wheeler) and David A. Hartz Sr. of Deposit, N.Y.
He married the former Deb Raymond Dec. 8, 1973. She survives. He had moved to this area in 1997 from Deposit and was the Fulton Fire Department fire chief and the Twin Cities Ambulance Service director.
He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Fulton, Knights of Columbus, Kentucky Fire Fighting Association, American Plan-ning Association (Kentucky Chapter), Kentucky Com-munity Crisis Response Board, Jackson Purchase Firefighters Association, Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services and Haz Mat I.
Survivors also include his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Breana Hartz of Crestview, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Summer and Thomas Reis of Deposit and Megan and John Miller of Martin; his brother, Randy Hartz of Deposit; two sisters, Julie Wist and Angie Smith, both of Deposit; and 10 grandchildren, Gage Hartz, Lana Hartz and Andy Sipos, all of Crestview, Marisa Reis, Thomas Reis Jr. and Tyler Reis, all of Deposit, Abby Miller and Avery Miller, both of Martin, and Ryan Shilling and Ty Shilling, both of Houghton, La.
