PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) — A Paducah man who authorities say used his go-cart business to solicit young boys for sex has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Paducah Sun reports 38-year-old Robert F. Bivens also faces a child rape charge in Weakley County.
Bivens was sentenced on Monday on his guilty pleas entered June 4. The agreement allowed him to plead to two counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of third-degree sodomy. Had the charges gone to trial and had Bivens been convicted of all of them, he could have faced life in prison.
The victims were 8 years old and 14 years old.
Bivens is charged with rape of a child under 13 in Weakley County. That indictment was returned in January after a TBI investigation.
