W.D. Powers, 85, of Fulton died July 28, 2010, at his home.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Church of Christ, located at 1301 Middle Road in Fulton. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dukedom.
Friends may call at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton from 5-8 p.m. today. The body will also lie in state at Parkway Church of Christ from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday.

He was born June 7, 1925, in Illinois, son of the late Oliver Lee and Nancy (Barker) Powers. He was married to Sammie Lou (Hutchens) Powers, who preceded him in death.
A member of Parkway Church of Christ, he had been a former employee of the City of Fulton, serving as the public works director. He was also a longtime greeter at Fulton’s Walmart store.
He is survived by two sisters, Virginia Redden of Water Valley, Ky., and Elizabeth Etherton of Fulton; a nephew whom he raised, William Jackson of Fulton; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
