Obion County Fair Spanish Speakers
Posted: Friday, July 30, 2010 8:02 pm SPANISH SPEAKERS AVAILABLE — Beth McManus, wife of Obion County Fair board second vice president Craig McManus, displays a sign declaring “Spanish is spoken here.” One window on the main gate at this year’s fair will have a Spanish-speaking worker who will be able to assist local residents who are English-challenged. Mrs. McManus is a Spanish teacher at Obion County Central High School. The Obion County Fair will be held Aug. 16-21. The fair office will open Monday. Fair board president Brenda Baker (not pictured) said residents should be made aware that, due to insurance regulations, anyone who is shorter than 36 inches tall will not be allowed to ride carnival rides this year, when if a parent or guardian is available to ride with them. This includes the merry-go-round and other children’s rides, she noted.
