Mrs. Elwanda Freeman Walker, 84, of Martin, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Center, Dresden.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel with Judge Tommy Moore and Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery.
Charlie Davis, Guy Robbins, Shawn Miles, Billy Gene Wagster, Lee Dortch, Stan Baker and Roger Huff served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bercan Sunday School Class of Central Baptist Church, Warren Engelhart, Dr. Michael W. Hinds and Billy Simpson.
 Mrs. Walker was born June 10, 1926 in Weakley County, daughter of the late Ralph Sr. and Lera Erwin Walker. She was a 1944 graduate of Martin High School, a homemaker, was in Avon sales, and member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Max Harold Walker of Martin; one son, John Mark Walker of Martin; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Lee Tatum of Martin; one sister, Cora Freeman Gill of Martin; two grandchildren, William Clayton Walker of Dalton, Ga. and Christy Lee Walker of Martin; and one great-grandson, Seth Karson Mitchell.
She was also preceded in death by one son, William Franklin Walker; and one brother, Ralph Freeman Jr.
