President Bettie Higgs opened the meeting and read a quote from Archbishop Desmond Tutu, “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelms the world.”
Devotion Leader Mary Adams used Micah 6:8, titled “Good Citizenship,” for the devotion and closed with all repeating The Lord’s Prayer.
Song Leader Marjorie Simmons led in singing, and we recognized the July birthday of Bettie Higgs and sang happy birthday to her. All repeated in unison the Club Creed.
Secretary Ruby Rogers called the roll as each told about a favorite vacation. These ranged from the Gulf Coast to the Grand Canyon to California to Alaska and parts in between. We also reported on the number of jewelry and cosmetic items brought for teenagers to be given to We Care.
In the absence of Treasurer Sylvia Simmons, President Higgs gave the report and read a thank you note from deceased member, Julie Tucker’s husband.

Creative writing entries were due July 1. FCE dues are due by Sept. 1. State Conference registration is due by Sept. 1. Reminders are to keep up with CUU’s and log the titles of books read this year.
