We have started a new study on Sunday mornings and evenings. On Sunday mornings, we are studying “Developing a Faith that Works.” The scripture is the book of James. Bro. Mike asked “What is maturity?” It is not age, appearance, accomplishments or academics. God says maturity is determined by your attitude. There are five marks of maturity. A mature person is positive under pressure, sensitive to people, a peacemaker, patient and prayerful and has mastered their mouth.
For the evening service, we are studying “My Responsibilities as a Believer.” Our scriptures came from 1 Peter 1:3; 2:21, 4:10, Ephesians 2:19, 1 Timothy 4:12, Acts 20:24, Psalm 34:3 and Exodus 20:3. God wants us to be a member of His family, a model of His character, a minister of His grace, a messenger of His love and a magnifier of His name.
Our member, Daniel Smith, who has been in Iraq, is returning home and on Sunday, July 25. We will be having a dinner after the morning worship service. Fellowship time and the evening service will begin immediately after the dinner. Please bring your potluck dishes and come enjoy the fellowship with our returning soldier!
Church Birthdays and Anniversaries: Kristen Patterson celebrated her birthday on July 9. Chase Glover celebrated his birthday on July 12. Connie Summons celebrated her birthday on July 15. Janna Bizzle celebrated her birthday on July 19. If you had a birthday and I missed it, please contact me and I will add you to my list.
