Bro. Bobby Peal led our morning service singing “Jesus Hold My Hand.”
Edna Johle taught from Proverbs 28:13 which says, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper; but whosoever confesseth and forsaken them shall have mercy.” God wants us to avoid sin and its consequences.
Sarah Guy, Ashlyn and Hunter Hagye assisted singing “Take Your Shoes Off, Moses” and “Glory Glory.” Hunter sang “Jesus Loves Me,” and Sarah and Ashlyn sang “Amazing Grace.” Mary led “Isn’t the Love of Jesus Something Wonderful” and “He Keeps Me Singing.” Patsy Baker sang “He’s in the Midst,” and Harvey Dildine sang “The Windows of my Soul.”
Bro. Bobby turned to Proverbs 30:11 which says, “The generation described here bears striking resemblance to the generations living today and to the one which will exist in the last days. They curse their fathers and show no respect to their mother, thus breaking the Fifth Commandment.”
The hostility of young people toward their parents is one of the main  characteristics of our decadent society. As long as you live, you claim your children as your own. A parent may be strict with their kids, but when they become adults and have their own children, your teaching will come out in their upbringing of their children.
There is a generation of children who have no respect for their parents and who think sin is “cool,” but if they turn to God, He is loving and forgiving. There are so many benefits in maintaining a faithfulness to the Lord with the best retirement in the world.
Mary led evening service with “Keep on the Firing Line,” “Just Over in Glory Land” and “Everybody Will be Happy Over There.” Kathy Faulkner and the group from the audience sang, “What a Lovely Name of Jesus.”
Gladys Cherry told a story, illustrating with a towel, about a little boy who was very poor. His mother sent him to buy a chicken, but he was attacked while bringing it home, and it was tore to pieces.
Then, he met a man called Jesus who told him not to cry and asked for the towel and the boy the chicken. Jesus started to pull out wings and legs from the towel, and when it was opened, it was a full chicken. Praise God!
Nickie Hampton sang “This Is Just What Heaven Means To Me.” Mary sang “Sweet Peace,” and Harold Roberts sang “A Broken Vessel.”
Bro. Bobby chose Psalm 63:1-4 which says, “Oh, God You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for you in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You,  thus will I bless You while I live , I will lift up my hands in Your name.” If we have victory in our hearts the Lord will deliver us from our daily problems. We sing and praise the Lord in whom we have our trust.
Our next ladies meeting will be Saturday, July 24 at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
