Katie Keathley recently accepted a summer internship at the Obion County Chamber of Commerce.
She is a senior at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she is majoring in public relations with a minor in marketing.
She plans to graduate in December and then further her education by working toward receiving a master of business administration degree at UT Martin.
Miss Keathley is the daughter of Barry and Janet Keathley of Union City.
Her obligations at the Chamber of Commerce include gathering and distributing information about the community to those new to the area, as well as applying her skills to create brochures and flyers. She is also assisting in creating new ideas for community involvement.
Her supervisors include Robbie Green, the office and communications manager, and Lindsay Frilling, the community development director.
“It is an honor to work with such a great organization that is well-known by what they do in and for the community,” Miss Keathley said. “I am gaining a significant amount of knowledge working for the Chamber of Commerce and this experience will benefit me tremendously.”
