Cumberland County Playhouse, a major non-profit professional performing arts resource in rural Tennessee, will hold its final pre-registration for the 2010-2011 Triple Threat Education program on Sunday, July 25th from 3 -5 pm in Studio A at the Playhouse.  Open to students from age 3 to adult, the program focuses on acting, singing and dancing – the three skills necessary to be considered a “triple threat” in the theater.
Classes include Creative Movement, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Musical Theater, Showstoppers, Acting and Voice and will be broken up into different age groups. We are once again offering the New Creative Movement and now a Creative Drama class for students with developmental disabilities.
Dance classes will begin on Monday, August 23rd and Musical Theater classes will begin on Wednesday, August 25th.  For more information about the CCP Triple Threat Program, sponsored by Spirit Broadband, please contact Eldar Valiev, Dance Director, at 931.484.8710, ext 246, or Nicole Begue, Director of Education, at ext 233.
After playing for twelve weeks and being so well received that it was held over for another eight weeks, DUCK HUNTER SHOOTS ANGEL! sponsored by Stonehaus Winery, will perform for the last time on Friday, July 30 at 2:30 pm.
DUCK HUNTER SHOOTS ANGEL, which the Playhouse rates at PG-13, “is a hilarious and thought-provoking show with a little salty language and some mature good-ol’-boy humor”, says guest director Donald Fann.  Written by Mitch Albom, who is best known as the bestselling author of TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, and THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN, DUCK HUNTER explores the spiritual side of life in today’s world, with humor, compassion and a sharply perceptive wit.

Currently at the Playhouse is one of Broadways biggest musicals, HELLO, DOLLY! rated G and sponsored by Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express & Hampton Inn, playing thru August 22; and the “Musical Comedy Cavalcade” of Tennessee history, TENNESSEE, USA!, sponsored by Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, thru August 28.  For reservations visit or call 931.484.5000.
