Charlie Dotson Lyell, 76, of Martin died July 16, 2010, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were set for 3 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial, with military honors, was to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Family members were to serve as pallbearers.

He was born May 21, 1934, in Lauderdale County, son of the late Charlie Watson and Lois Mabel (Thurmond) Lyell. He married the former Sharon Orahood Dec. 27, 1958. She survives. He was the retired owner and operator of Old Time Clock Shop in Union City and was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Mount Pelia Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 183 in Lawton, Okla.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheridan Dawn and David Owen of McKenzie; his son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Sharron Lyell of Rives; two grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Lyell and Brad Nicholas Lyell, both of Rives; three brothers, Wayne Lyell of Portland and Merlin Lyell and Marshall Lyell, both of Union City; three sisters, Dorothy McCorkle and Ruby Nell Leggett, both of Union City, and Brenda Arnold of Champaign, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Leigh Lyell; and two brothers, Montelle Lyell and David Lyell.
