Church news told
Bells Chapel CME Church, located at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton, will host a musical featuring several choirs at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The community is invited to attend.
The church will also host a Pastor’s Appreciation Service, honoring the Rev. Eric McKinney Sr., Sunday at 3 p.m.
Special guests will be the pastor and congregation of Christ Church Holiness in Madisonville, Ky.
Guests will be welcome, a spokesman said.

 Women to meet
“Come and help celebrate America’s birthday with the local Ken-Tenn Women’s Connection luncheon Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ole West Steakhouse at 943 Main St. in Martin. The theme for this celebration will be ‘Real Freedom,’” a spokesman said.
 Chris Norton of Union City will present a special feature entitled “God’s Little Gems” and she has a collection to share with those who attend.
 Barry Perkins from South Fulton will entertain with patriotic songs.
 “If golf is one of your summer activities, come and listen to our speaker, Linda Mullican from Marion, Ill.,” the spokesman says. “Her program title is ‘From a Sand Trap to a Hole in One!’ Even spectators will enjoy her inspirational words. So, mark this date on your calendar, invite a friend and come join us.”   
 All women are welcome to attend. The $10 price includes buffet, beverage and tip. Walk-ins are welcome or reservations can be made by Monday morning by calling 885-0087, (731) 587-3915, (731) 479-2979 or 479-8020.
The program is sponsored by the Ken-Tenn Women’s Connection, in association with Stonecroft Inc.
 
VBS planned
 Samburg Assembly of God will have Vacation Bible School Sunday through Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. The theme will be “Saddle Ridge Ranch.”
To begin VBS
 Vacation Bible School will begin Monday and continue through Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Obion First United Methodist Church. There will be classes for children from 3-11 years old, and all are invited to attend.
 Children are reminded to bring a T-shirt Monday because participants will do some painting.
 There will also be fun activities such as sack races, water activities, stories and crafts.
