Among those who learned the first tatting technique were Tereasa Quinton (right) of the Clayton community and Lupita Berner of Union City. “Needle tatting is a wonderful method of making lace edging, medallions, snowflakes and numerous other items for those who have not or cannot, like me, mastered the art of shuttle tatting. Patterns which are specifically written for tatting on a special tatting needle are available or one can use patterns written for the tatting shuttle. Like any crafting skill, the more you practice the craft, the easier it becomes,” said Mrs. Fisher.
