Fussell to run for school board
Fritz Fussell of Troy is announcing his candidacy for the District 6 seat on the Obion County School Board.
The son of the late Horace and Betty Fussell, he grew up in Obion and has lived in the area all his life. He is married to Dana (Bond) Fussell and they have four children — Chandler, 14, Rhett, 11, Emerson, 7, and Alayna, 3.
Fussell graduated from Obion County Central High School in 1987 and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin for two years. He also studied industrial maintenance technology at Tennessee Technical and Vocational School in Newbern.
He is a member of Troy First Baptist Church and the Tennessee School Board Association.
“My goal is to be elected to full term on the Obion County School Board. I have lived in Obion and Troy all my life. As the father of three children in the Obion County School System, and one more coming soon, I have a sincere concern regarding the well being of children in Obion County,” he said.
“I was certainly humbled when appointed by the county commission to the school board last June. In the past year, I have been given the opportunity to work along with some outstanding individuals — individuals who are willing to work as a team and accomplish objectives regarding the children of Obion County.
“I earnestly ask for your vote. If elected I will continue to make myself available to the people of District 6 and welcome future discussions regarding our school system. I believe the Obion County School System has much to be proud of, and it is an honor to serve in this capacity.”
