Miss Phillips, Bynum to wed on Aug. 7 Posted: Monday, July 12, 2010 8:01 pm The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Julie Savannah Phillips of Rives and Alexander Jennings Bynum of Dresden are being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Dwight Phillips and the late Marsha Phillips of Rives. She is the granddaughter of Melba Butler and the late Gene Butler of Humboldt, Joyce Phillips and the late Jimmie Phillips of South Fulton, the late Clerence and Mary Ruth Johnson of Union City and the late Howard Arnold Jr. of California. She is a 2006 graduate of Obion County Central High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin. She is employed at First State Bank in Martin. The groom-elect is the son of Hal and Melanie Bynum and Lisa Alexander, all of Dresden. He is the grandson of Wendell and Shirley Alexander and Jane Alexander, all of Dresden, and the late J.W. and Mary Tyson Bynum of Palmersville. He is a 2006 graduate of Gleason High School and a 2009 graduate of UT Martin. He is an affiliate broker at Wendell Alexander Realty in Dresden. The couple will exchange vows Aug. 7 in an outside ceremony at the home of the bride’s father near Rives. Music will begin at 7:30 p.m. Courtesy transportation will be provided to the wedding ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m. from Central Union United Methodist Church. The last shuttle will leave at 7:15 p.m. There will be no parking at the wedding ceremony. A reception will follow at the Celebration Centré in Union City.
