Miss Kilgas, Crawford to wed on July 24

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Megan Renee Kilgas and Kit Crawford Jr. are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve and Susan Kilgas of Martin. She is the granddaughter of the late Alfred and Zonda Kilgas of Seymour, Ind., and Lewis and Shirley Byassee of Union City.
She is a 2001 graduate of Westview High School in Martin and a 2004 graduate of the University of Tennessee of Martin, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration-marketing. While there, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She earned a master’s degree in business administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., in 2007.
She works as a project manager for a marketing company in the Washington, D.C., metro area.
The groom is the son of Sgt. Maj. Kit and Robin Crawford Sr. of Elizabethton. He is the grandson of Nathan and Linda Crawford Sr. of Nashville, Robert and Barbara Floyd of Athens, Ala., and Betty Rowden and the late Fred Rowden of Lawrenceburg.
He is a 2001 graduate of Forest High School in Chapel Hill and a 2005 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history and philosophy. He earned a master’s degree in history from Old Dominion University in 2007. He is seeking his doctorate in modern European history at American University in Washington, D.C.
The couple will wed at 3 p.m. July 24 at Martin First United Methodist Church. Music will begin at 2:30.
A reception will follow at The Lindell in Martin.
