Charles Leon Parnell, 75, of Union City died July 8, 2010, at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Joey Tucker, Ralph Gilliam, Smokey Stover, Robert Hurt, William Parnell and Thomas Parnell.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Dec. 21, 1934, in Trimble, son of the late Leonard Leon and Lurlie O’Dell (Inman) Parnell. He married the former Mary Louise Cochran May 23, 1958. She survives. He had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Co. for 37 years and then was employed in maintenance at Ridgemont Elementary School near Union City for 13 years. He was a member of First United Assembly of God in Trimble.
Survivors also include his nephew, Franklin Leon Parnell of Florence, Ala.; and two great nieces, Candy Parnell of Trimble and Jennifer Parnell of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Leonard Parnell.
