The Weakley County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two tragic deaths that both occurred Thursday.

The first incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on Highway 190, south of Pillowville, where the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department, Weakley County Ambulance Service and the medical examiner responded to find Crocker deceased after being run over by a tractor while working on his farm there.

At 7:40 p.m. Thursday, the Sharon Police Department, ambulance personnel and the medical examiner responded to a residence on Old Highway 45 in Sharon, where an 11-year-old was found entangled in a dog chain attached to a swingset.
The child was pronounced dead on arrival at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
McGowan said the victim was from Arkansas and was visiting relatives in Weakley County. The case remains under investigation, with the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department assisting Sharon police.
