Roane County discovery yields about 2,100 plants

KNOXVILLE (AP) — The Roane County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies and others on the Governor’s Task Force on Marijuana Eradication had a fruitful harvest.
WBIR-TV in Knoxville reported officers pulled up about 2,100 marijuana plants in the “South of the River” area of Roane County on Tuesday.
A news release from the sheriff’s office said the plants ranged in height from 4 inches to 12 feet.
The task force has a hotline for reporting suspected growing operations at 1-800-248-WEED.
