The Press 7.7.10 For the month of June, the Lighthouse Unit at Martin Health Care had new activities and old favorites. We had a new outside activity called “Sand Hunt.” The game consisted of hunting through a large container filled with sand for various items.
Some of the items found were a rubber ball, a sponge and a tennis ball. Each resident took a turn searching for these items.
Ms. Mary Lee won the game by finding the most items.
We also had the “Father’s Day Luncheon.” Our luncheon was held in the dining room to honor the fathers. Food served at the luncheon included sandwiches, chips and cookies. Father’s Day balloons were also given.
We finished the month with a luau. We decorated the dining room for the event. We sat and listened to Hawaiian music. Each resident and staff member wore leis. Food served at the party were sandwiches, chips, cake and Hawaiian Punch. The residents seem to really enjoy our luau.
