Summer Arts Camp set for July 12-16

Posted: Tuesday, July 6, 2010 9:13 pm

The third annual Summer Arts Camp for children organized by members of the Weakley County Arts and Humanities Council will be held at Dresden Elementary School, at 759 Linden St on Hwy 22 in Dresden, from July 12-16, 2010.  Students will be able to choose two classes from those offered: Creative Writing, Dance/Movement, Dollmaking, Drawing, Mixed-Media, Music, Painting, Sculpture, and Theater. Classes will be held in the mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, and on Friday, July 16, there will be an open house where students and guests may view artwork and enjoy performances.  Each class will be taught by a highly qualified artist/teacher.
Fees are $50 per child, which covers both classes, including supplies.  Participants will each be assigned to two classes for five days.  Class preferences will be considered on a first come, first served basis.   Students do not have to be residents of Weakley County.  Fees are not refundable.
Weakley County Arts and Humanities Council would like to thank the Tennessee Arts Commission, the Weakley County Board of Commissioners, and many private donors for their financial support to help make this Summer Arts Camp possible.
