Our Children’s Summer Reading Program kicked off with Leona Lion, from the PBS series Between the Lions, visiting us on June 7. Those in attendance enjoyed face painting, games, snacks and Between the Lions episodes. Mr. Bond, the Science Guy, came on June 16 and presented water-related science experiments. On June 21, Kevin Kidd, the Enrichertainer, took close to 50 people to the island of O Bay.
Throughout the summer, a story hour was held on Thursdays at noon with a brown bag lunch. For children 3-5 years old, Shark Tales story time was held on Thursdays at 10 a.m.
The C.E. Weldon Public Library is located at 100 Main St. in Martin. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The library closes at 8 p.m. on Thursday and noon on Saturday.
