Larry W. Barnes, 63, of the Crystal community died 6:45 p.m. June 30, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home, with the Revs. Gordon Wilbanks and Dale True officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
He was born Oct. 28, 1946, in Obion County, son of the late Lacy and Betty Jane (Isbell) Barnes. He married the former Janice Vaught June 2, 1967. She survives. He had been employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., retiring after 26 years of service, and had been the owner of the former Barnes Barber Shop in Union City.
He had been a member of the Tennessee National Guard for six years and was a member of Antioch Union Church at Crystal.
Survivors also include his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Ronnie Woods of Hernando, Miss.; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kelli Barnes of the McConnell community; three grandchildren, Emily Reese Woods of Hernando and Blake Barnes and Anna Barnes, both of McConnell; his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Johnny McTurner of Crystal; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cleo and Becky Barnes of Union City and Randy and Dorothy Barnes of Crystal.
