The Hickman Country Club will host its annual three-man scramble Aug. 7 and 8.
Entry fee is $180 per team, with prize money to be dictated by number of teams in the tourney. Last year, the event drew a full field.
Lunch will be provided on Saturday, Aug. 7, and is part of the entry fee. Homemade desserts will be part of the menu for the luncheon.

Best ladies’ score
is 4-under at Troy

The team of Cheryl Brundige, Alice Peoples, Letha Barnes, Shirley Campbell and Beverly Yates combined to shoot a 4-under-par and win the weekly women’s scramble at Wynridge Greens in Troy on Tuesday.
Second-place was decided by a scorecard playoff with the fivesome of Sharon Dills, Linda Lofton, Joyce Bell, Novella Little and Brooke Garrigan declared the winner after finishing at 2-under.
Wynridge Greens holds its weekly women’s scramble every Tuesday.

for UTM tourney

Registration is currently under way for the Skyhawk Club Kick-Off Golf Tournament sponsored by Reelfoot Bank.
The tournament is set for Thursday, July 29, at Persimmon Hills Golf Course in Sharon.
Lunch is set for 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start to the tourney slated at 1 p.m. for the four-person scramble.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing teams, closest to the pin and longest drive.
The $70 entry fee ($65 if prepaid by July 23) includes greens fee, golf cart, lunch, beverage stations, catered dinner, goody bag, two mulligans and an opportunity to visit with the Skyhawk coaches.
Dinner will be served at 5 p.m.

Donations way up
for Memphis sports

MEMPHIS (AP) — The University of Memphis expects a record $7.3 million in donations this year to the athletic department.
Athletics director R.C. Johnson said Monday the money given to the Tiger Scholarship Fund is $300,000 more than last year.
