Completed arrangements are being announced for Janice (Hooper) Roberson, 71, of Troy, who died June 25, 2010, at her home.
Services were Sunday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy ,with the Rev. Judd Mowery officiating. Burial followed in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
Pallbearers were Nickey Sadler, Jake Sadler, Rob Wiggins, Reid Wiggins, Gerald Simrell and Mike Osteen.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Ussery, James Nicks, Barry Little, Carl Little, J.C. Little and Prentice Ussery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Lung Association, 1835 Union Ave., Memphis, TN 38104.
She was born March 3, 1939, in Dyersburg, daughter of the late George William and Katie (Ussery) Hooper. She married William Gene Roberson Jan. 29, 1956. He survives. She taught in the Obion County School System at Black Oak and the former Hornbeak schools for 31 1/2 years. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church and Tennessee Education Association.
She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Nickey Sadler of Troy; her son, Terry Roberson of Mayfield, Ky.; two grandsons, Rob Wiggins and Reid Wiggins, both of Troy; and two step-grandchildren, Jake Sadler of Obion and Brian Sadler of Lakeland, Ga.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Roberson; and her grandson, Adam Roberson.
