(Stover) Odle, 81, of Henderson, Ky., a former resident of the Elbridge community, died June 24, 2010, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson. Services will be 6 p.m. today at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson, with the Rev. Ted Burke officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Schoenbaum, Pascal Benson, Tracy Benson, Jeff Combest and Lennie Underwood. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elbridge Cemetery in Obion County, with Woodyne Muse and Monya Sanders officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church or St. Anthony’s Hospice in Kentucky. She was born July 4, 1928, in Elbridge, daughter of the late Haydon and Lillian (Call) Stover. She was the widow of Mike J. Odle, who died in 1994, and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where she earned a degree in home economics. She had been a teacher in the Henderson County (Ky.) School System for many years and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church there. She was a fan of UT football and enjoyed big band music and swing dancing. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Julie Odle of Henderson; her daughter, Linda (Odle) Priscilla of Washington, D.C.; her sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Ralph Boyd of Henderson; her grandson, Jackson Odle of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Timothy Glen Odle; and her newborn daughter. |
