The Obion County Budget Committee will meet 9 a.m. Friday in the basement conference room at the Obion County Courthouse.
There will be a report from the Veterans Service Study Committee and a resolution to set up the expenditure of grant funds in the fiscal year 2010-11 budget for the Obion County Courthouse sidewalk improvements.
Another item will include an appointment to the Beer Committee (now serving, Jimmy Seals, Perry Barfield and Kenneth Cheatham). Mayor Benny McGuire is requesting a postponement of this item until September.
Appointments must also be considered to the County Fire Committee (now serving, Dean Jowers, Tim Doyle, Paul Albright, Wes Miller and Mark Watson). Miller must be replaced since he is no longer mayor of Obion.
Appointment to the Board of Hospital Governors (now serving, Gary Houston) and the Reelfoot Lake Tourist Council (now serving, Janis Cunningham) will also be considered, as will a list of Notary Public applications.
The meeting will be open to the public.
All members are urged to attend, a spokesman said.
