Ms. Dillard, Cheatham to wed in October

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Nova Diane Dillard and Jerry B. “Jay” Cheatham III, both of Union City, are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Thomas and Diane Johnson of Union City. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Johnson, Marge Maksimchuk and the late John Maksimchuk, all of Jackson, Mich.
She is a 1994 graduate of Union City High School. She graduated magna cum laude in 1999 from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in education. She is a 2007 graduate of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, where she earned a master of education degree in curriculum/instruction: technology. She was recognized as a National Board Certified Teacher in 2009.
She is employed as a pre-school teacher for Memphis City Schools.
The groom-elect is the son of Jerry and Ann Cheatham of Union City. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Poole of Memphis and Rhea Cheatham and the late Bernard Cheatham of Elbridge.
He is a 1996 graduate of UCHS. He attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.
He is employed as general manager at Tractor Supply Co. in Arlington.
The couple will exchange vows Oct. 2 at Heartsong Church in Cordova.
