Martin Police recover stolen power tools
The Martin Police Department has arrested a Martin woman in connection with power tools allegedly taken from the Rural King store in Martin on June 13.
According to an affidavit, Karen Rawls of S. College Street, was taken into custody by the department on June 17.
During an interview with MPD investigators, Rawls allegedly admitted to being in the presence of co-defendant Jeffery Davis on June 13 at the local store.
Rawls told officers she had taken several Dewalt brand cordless power tools from the store, according to the report.
She alleged the stolen items were placed into her possession by Davis. An investigation revealed she had taken the property from the store on three separate occasions and the items were sold to another individual by Davis, according to the affidavit. The stolen power tools are valued at approximately $1,265. Rawls has been charged with theft of property over $500.
