Marilucile Counce runs for committee

Veteran committee woman, patriot and Martin native Marilucile Counce has decided to throw her hat in the ring again for the position of State Republican Executive Committee Woman for the 24th Senatorial Disctrict to be decided Aug. 5.
Counce, who wears many hats as a mother, grandmother, church organist/pianist and gardening enthusiast, decided to run again upon the encouragement of several local people. Having held the position before, Counce has five national conventions and five women’s national conventions under her belt.
Running on the platform of patriotism, Counce promotes a “return to values” and a following of the course paved by the founding fathers. Additionally, she emphasizes that with experience comes wisdom and her prior experience has afforded her much wisdom for the position.
Over the next few days, she will be traveling to Stewart County, Henry County and Henderson County. The 24th District is made up of nine counties — Weakley, Benton, Decatur, Obion, Perry, Stewart, Henderson, Henry and Lake.
