Tennisons will speak at UC First Assembly of God Posted: Thursday, June 24, 2010 12:18 pm The Messenger, June 24, 2010 Evangelists Don and Martha Tennison will be at Union City First Assembly of God Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and again at 5 p.m. and on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7. Before this evangelistic team went on the field, they were pastors for 20 years, with the last 12 of those at First Assembly of God in Radcliff, Ky. There they saw the church grow from 80 to more than 700 members. The church experienced a nationally reported tragedy in May of 1988 when the church bus was hit head-on by a drunk driver. The vehicle burned, killing 27 people. The Tennisons’ own son escaped injury in the back of the bus. Prior to that, Mrs. Tennison was healed of ulcers so extreme the doctor wanted to replace her stomach with an artificial one. Having experienced God’s sustaining power and healing, they have a deep love and compassion for the hurting. They have served together for more than 39 years of ministry. “Martha’s unique presentation has put her in demand as a speaker across America. She will keep you laughing and crying with her irrepressible humor and down-home Southern accent, as she shares her life’s experiences with a loving and faithful God,” a spokesman said. The Tennisons pastored the former Old Republican Church at one time and have returned to this area many times since for revivals. A nursery will be provided at the church, located at 1810 Pleasant Valley Ave. For more information, call 885-2612 or go to www.unioncityfirstag.com. The Rev. Tommy Hall is pastor. |
