Indoor yard sale set
Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church at 1422 Pleasant Valley Ave. in Union City will host an indoor yard sale for missions Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. All proceeds will go to Reelfoot Rural Ministries to help feed the hungry, care for the elderly and educate children, a spokesman said.

To mark homecoming
New Concord Baptist Church near Kenton will celebrate homecoming and Decoration Day Sunday. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m., followed by morning worship at 11. The guest speaker will the Rev. Eric Burress. A  potluck meal will follow and there will be a gospel singing at 1:30 featuring Brotherhood from Union City Second Baptist Church.
The Rev. Johnny Witherspoon and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Youth revival set
Pentecostal Tabernacle, located at 16235 State Route 45 South in Water Valley, Ky., will host a youth tent revival Monday through July 2 at 7 each evening at Benny Gordon Park in Fulton. There will be a different speaker each evening.
On July 3, there will be a cookout and fireworks at the church.
The community is invited to both events.

 Plates for sale
PEOC Ministry at 1304 East Main St. in Union City will be selling Southern fried chicken plates with potato salad, fresh greens, roll or cornbread, dessert and drink for $6 Friday. On Saturday, the menu will feature slabs of ribs for $18 each, whole chickens for $7 and rib plates for $7.

Dedication event set
A dedication service is planned Sunday at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, “where everybody is somebody and Jesus is everything,” a spokesman said.
The Danny Mosier family and the church have built a 24-foot by 36-foot pavilion in memory of Jan Mosier.
Sunday school will be at 10 a.m., with worship and the dedication service following at 11. A noon meal will be served.
There will be no evening service.
The Mosier family and the church invite the community to join them.
Dr. Bobby Williams is pastor.

Block party planned
Home Street Church of God, located at 417 South Home St. in Union City, will host a neighborhood block party and safety fair Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be inflatables for the children and free hot dogs and beverages for everyone. The contemporary Christian group 7th Seal will sing at noon and the Frog Jump Southern Gospel  Quartet will be featured at 2.
Also on hand will be members of the Obion County Rescue Squad and the Union City Fire Department, who will bring along emergency vehicles.
The fire department will set up a landing zone for the Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter, which is planning to stop by at some time during the day.
Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs and join the congregation for fun, food, fellowship and good gospel music, a spokesman said.

Anniversary event set
Bethpage Baptist Church near Rutherford will be celebrating its 150th anniversary Sunday. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m., with worship services at 11 and an add-a-dish meal following. Afternoon services will be at 1:30.
All current and former members and their families are invited to attend, a spokesman said.

Waldon to preach
The Rev. Stan Waldon has returned to Union City First United Methodist Church at 420 East Main St. and will preach his first sermon Sunday at 8:45 and 10:50 a.m. He will also preach and serve communion at the Overflow contemporary service at 6 p.m.
The community is invited to join the church family for any or all of these services, and for Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.
