The Press 6.22.10 Public relations and visual communication students in the University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Communications received awards at the annual Public Relations Society of America Student Vox Awards competition sponsored by the Memphis chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
A group of public relations majors received a Vox Award for a research project conducted for the Country Pet Resort and Spa in Martin. Mary Unger and Tara Bea, both of Martin; Matt Byers, of Paris; Erica Davis, of Bells; Erin Larkins, of Burns; Josh Weiss, of Germantown; and Becca Wilkinson, of Old Hickory; worked on the project.
Rebecca Alsup, of Prospect, received a Vox award for her UT Martin Public Relations Student Society of American chapter newsletter. Alsup also received a Gold Award for her Alpha Delta Pi brochure.
Danny Hussey, of Counce, received a Vox Award for his “UT Martin Recycles” viral Web video.
Brandy Hardy, of Clarksville, received a Gold Award for her UT Martin Vegetarian Society Newsletter.
A group of public relations, news editorial, and visual communication students received a Gold Award for a YouTube advertising campaign proposal created for the UT Martin Office of University Relations.
Weiss, of Germantown; Regina Emery, of Indian Mound; Ashley Strader Ballard, of Murfreesboro; David Deaton, of McKenzie; Brent Harris, of Martin; Reuben Harris, of Fayetteville; Laura McFall, of Cordova; and Kaylin Bishop, of Union City; worked on the campaign proposal.
