James Ernest Crenshaw Jr., 70, of Kenton died June 16, 2010, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Services were 2 p.m. Saturday at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens, S.C., with burial following there in the Crenshaw Family Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to American Heart Association of Upstate, S.C., and Western N.C., 3535 Pelham Road, Suite 101, Greenville, SC 29615.
He was born in Transylvania County, N.C., son of the late Mary (Moore) and James Ernest Crenshaw Sr. He was a retired employee of Tyson Foods and was a Mason and a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church near Kenton.
He was a honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Dessie Bell (Shook) Crenshaw; his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Scarlet Waldrop of Cumming, Ga.; his daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Paul Phillips of Cumming; 15 grandchildren; three brothers and his sister-in-law, Elbert and Kathy Crenshaw of Six Mile, S.C., J.C. Crenshaw of Greer, S.C., and Edward Crenshaw of Piedmont, S.C.; two sisters and his brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Crenshaw) and Frank Pruitt of Inman, S.C., and Eula (Crenshaw) Hinson  Greer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Crenshaw; his daughter, Rene (Crenshaw) Owens; and his brother, Frank Crenshaw.
