UC grad Labrica
to play at Lambuth

Union City product Labrica Ward has found a college suitor.
Ward, who started 12 games and played in a total of 28 at UT Martin during the 2009-10 season, has signed a full scholarship to play at Lambuth University, according to head coach Tony Hill.
At UTM last season, Ward averaged nine points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
She was also named the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week twice, Player of the Week once and to the league’s All-Newcomer Team.
Ward has three years of eligibility remaining at the college level.

Traffic jam at top
of Wynridge event

The team of Bim Barker, Ike Peel, Sid Stephens, Wayne Storey and Randy Kincade combined to shoot a 9-under-par and win the weekly men’s scramble via a scorecard playoff at Wynridge Greens in Troy Thursday.
Meanwhile, the combination of Terry Wiseman, Frank Canale, Tom Cleveland, Matt Russell and Robert Huffstutter got second place with a like score.
Wynridge Greens holds its weekly men’s scramble every Thursday.

Hickman gal victors
a couple strokes up

The Hickman Country Club’s Ladies League took to the links on Thursday night.  
The team of Carol Potts, Dino Nerren, Carole Lattus and Joyce Bell won the competition with a 3-under.
Meanwhile, the combination of LeAnn Gantt, Evelyn Whitten, Tina Powell and Sandra Cobb tied with the team of Liz Roberts, Jacque Lethcoe, Janis Garrigan and Jackie Russell for second place with each team finishing 1-under-par.
Lattus had the closest shot to the pin.
The ladies play every Thursday evening at 5:30.

McLeary, Yates combo
wins top flight at Troy

Vikki McLeary and Ashley Yates combined to win the championship flight of the Wynridge Greens two-lady scramble on Tuesday.
In the first flight, Ve Severns and Debbie Hixon were the victors.
In the second flight, Kathy Barker and Evelyn Whitten won first place.
No cumulative scores were reported by course officials.
