Police are seeking clues today in a late-night armed robbery at a Union City convenience store.
Little General at 2129 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City was robbed about midnight Thursday, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Two store clerks told police that a black man — wearing a black hoodie, light-colored blue jean pants or long shorts, black shoes and something black covering his face — came into the store and ordered a clerk to give him the store’s money.
The intruder was holding what appeared to be a silver revolver toward one of the clerks during the hold-up, according to the report.
After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled through doors heading around the east side of the building.
The Little General store is owned by Cox Oil Co.
Anyone who has information about the crime is asked to call the police department at 885-1515 or Crime Stoppers at 885-TIPS (885-8477). Crime Stoppers may also be e-mailed at ucpd@ci.unioncity.tn.us. Callers to Crime Stoppers are guaranteed anonymity and tips that solve cases may be worth rewards up to $1,000.
