|As a kickoff to the summer season, Weakley County farmers will gather for the official opening of the Weakley County Farmer’s Market on Saturday. |
At 8 a.m. that day, local farmers will open their booths bearing fresh, vine-ripe veggies behind the C.E. Weldon Public Library in downtown Martin.
All of the produce offered at the farmer’s market is grown within a 20-mile radius and farmers stem from across Weakley County.
The farmers will be on hand until the last vegetable is sold. The market will reopen again on Monday afternoon at 2 and again on Wednesday afternoon at 2.
Community members will also have a chance to shop local at the opening of the Martin Historical Business District community Rummage Sale.
Vendors will open at 8 a.m. in the Festival Park across from the public library in Martin.
This will be the first of many rummage sales throughout the summer months.
Booth rentals are available for $5 each. To reserve a space, call the C. E. Weldon Public Library at 587-3148.
