Clarendon Chapter meets

The Object of the National Society was read by Faye Henson.
National Defense Chairman, Marjorie Hernandez spoke on the August election and asked everyone to vote on Aug. 5. The group also discussed the Arizona law on illegal people in this country and felt all should have a correct ID badge for proof as an American citizen.
Recording Secretary Pro Tem Lynda Logan read the minutes. They were accepted as read.
Treasurer Mrs. Chester Martin Jr. gave the financial statement. Aline Roberts reported on state and national conventions.
President Johnson reported that Kitty Parker, long time chapter treasurer, had died on March 15, 2010.
Our 50th Chapter reunion will be held July 21. After much discussion, a committee was appointed. They were Lynda Logan, Marjorie Hernandez, Blanch Pearson and Dorris Mason. They will select a place and send out invitations.
Everyone was glad to welcome back Janie York and Dorris Mason, who had been in ill health for several months.
Lynda Logan was endorsed for State Second Vice President. Carolyn Christian Martin was endorsed for State Recording Secretary.
All were reminded that the August Board Meeting will be held in Manchester on Aug. 27, 2010.
Everyone enjoyed a tasty luncheon and fellowship. Johnson called for the closing prayer and wished everyone a nice summer. Published in the Press 6-17-10
