TOMATO TASTING — The 27th annual Tomato Tasting will be held July 9 beginning at 10 a.m. at the family life center at First Baptist Church in Ripley. The Tomato Tasting and Country Store is sponsored by the Lauderdale County Family and Community Education Clubs. Among those preparing dishes during last year’s event were Olivia Winters and Abby Winters. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. Participants will be able to taste 25 different homemade recipes containing home grown Ripley tomatoes. A few of the favorites include Tennessee Cornbread Salad, Fresh Garlic Creamies and Fried Green Tomatoes.
