GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY — The Rev. and Mrs. James Marion Calhoun of Union City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception June 27 from 2-5 p.m. in the conference room at First United Methodist Church in Union City. The event is being hosted by their nieces and nephews, Janet and Russell Hilton, Susan and Joe Hill and Don and Pat Gray, all of Union City, Deanna and Lynn Treece of Springville, Claude and Sue Cranford of Hornbeak and Bobby and Suzanne Calhoun of South Fulton. He married the former Patricia Ann Jones on June 26, 1960, at First United Methodist Church in Union City, with Dr. Bobby Williams of Union City officiating. She is the daughter of the late Dr. Sam H. Jones and the late Vivian Jones Mays of Oak Ridge. A retired schoolteacher, she began her 30-year career at the former Hornbeak High School, but taught most of her career in the Paducah, Ky., city school system. He is the son of the late Guy and Dee Calhoun of Shawtown. A retired Methodist minister, he began his 52 years in the ministry on the Dyersburg circuit of the United Methodist Church. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
