Completed arrangements are being announced for Charlie Ball Jr., 77, of Union City, who died June 13, 2010, at his home.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Anointed Church of the Living God in Union City, with Bishop Barbara Bolden officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call at Rawls Funeral Home in Union City 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Terry Young, Willie George Young, James Kelly Young, Greg Blair, Terry T. Young and Keith Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be Dre Albea, James Marshall, Jimmy Mosley and Trevor Smith.
He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Rutherford, son of the late Elvurnia and Ruth (Starr) Ball. He was a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Rutherford.
He was married to Pauline Young Ball June 29, 2003. She survives.
Survivors also include his son, Naktia McClain of Waukegan, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Jackie McClain of Waukegan and Blanchie Gilliam of Union City; four sisters and his brother-in-law, Mary Taylor, Geneva McFall, Maggie and John Slater and Mattie King, all of Waukegan; his brother, Robert Ball of Union City; his aunt, Elsie Bailey of Dyer; his uncle, Floyd Starr of Sharon; and 12 grandchildren and his great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mable Jenkins; two brothers, Walter Ball and Hardy Ball; and his son, Alfonzo Ball.
