Saralee M. Powers, 90, of Washington, Ind., a former resident of Fulton, died 9 a.m. June 10, 2010, at Washington Nursing Center in Indiana.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Palestine Cemetery on Middle Road near Fulton, with the Rev. Bill Tate officiating.
There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Feed My Sheep, 10 West Van Trees St., Washington, IN 47501.
She was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Kevil, Ky., daughter of the late Leon Colman and Eunie Vivian (House) Massie. She was the widow of William Thomas Powers and was a 1936 graduate of Fulton High School. She had been employed as secretary at Central Christian Church and had retired from B&D Electric Co. in 1990. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she had served in many capacities over the years, including terms on the church board.
She was an active volunteer for many years and had won several awards, including one from the state of Indiana. She was past president of Tri-Kappa Sorority.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Jerry Armes of Dallas; her son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Carol Powers of Perry, Ga.; her granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Clyde Ruckle of Las Vegas; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Ruckle and Kyle Ruckle; and her sister, Martha Sue Thomas of Lubbock, Texas.
