The Symposium Club held its spring luncheon in the gracious country home of Beverly Hunt.
Mrs. Hunt was assisted by co-hostesses Linda Lu Harding and Elizabeth Kendall.
The members and Paula Chapman’s 7-year-old granddaughter, Evie Fowler of Memphis, gathered at Mrs. Hunt’s and then traveled to Paris to tour the lavish gardens surrounding the home of Jimmy Williams. A master gardener, Williams writes a column appearing in The Messenger. As Williams led the women through his gardens, he discussed the abundant foliage and blooming plants. Interesting statues, benches and fountains were scattered throughout the gardens.
After the delightful tour, the women returned to Mrs. Hunt’s for a salad luncheon. The guests were seated on the expansive deck and patio. For dessert, they selected an artfully decorated cupcake from the cupcake stand in the center of the dining table.
The club will resume meeting in September. Alice Dunlap will be president; Charlotte Erwin, vice president; Mary Elizabeth Nohsey, secretary; and Linda Jennings, treasurer.
