Bobby McKelvey, 76, of Hickman, Ky., died June 12, 2010, at Clinton-Hickman ICF nursing home in Clinton, Ky.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, with the Revs. Henry Callison and Tom Quimby officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery near Hickman.
Friends may call at the funeral home 6-8 this evening and on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Tim Langford, Ronald “Goose” Caldwell, Allen Craddock, David Lusk, Tony Duncan and Gene McCollum. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Hickman First Baptist Church and Jimmy Cooley.
He was born April 5, 1934, in Hickman, son of the late Dean and Martha McKelvey. A retired farmer and member of Hickman First Baptist Church, he was the husband of JoAnn McKelvey, who survives.
He is also survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy Sue and Terry Lane and JoAnn Hardin, all of Hickman, Beth Ann Duncan of Union City, Bobby Jo and Billy Mills of Fancy Farm, Ky., and Melissa McKelvey of Paris; two sisters, Katherine Garrigan of Union City and Dino Nerren of Hickman; seven grandchildren and the spouse of one, Robert Lane, Kassie Lane, Chris Rumfelt, Zack and Shanna Mills, Hogan Mills, Kinsey Mills and Lance McKelvey; and two great-grandchildren, Hailey Rumfelt and Brandon Rumfelt, with another great-grandchild to be born soon.
