Fireworks slated at lake Posted: Friday, June 11, 2010 5:01 pm A fireworks display to mark Independence Day is set for July 3 at 9 p.m. at Reelfoot Lake. The display will be shot at the old ballfield beside the American Legion off Highway 21. It will be shot by Pyro Shows and Jack Gannon. The American Legion will have a concession stand inside the legion building and will have available hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks and other items. During the day, the legion will have a flea market venue where vendors may set up and sell goods. For more information about set-up and fees, call (731) 446-9104. Fireworks cruises will be conducted by the Reelfoot Lake State Park staff from the park’s Visitor Center, with tickets to go on sale at 6:45 p.m. Call (731) 253-9652 for fee information or to make reservations for a cruise. Entertainment featuring Shelby Dee — billed as “the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist” — of Newbern will begin at 7 p.m. outside the American Legion, with music to continue until the fireworks begin. Entertainment is free to the public and those attending should bring their lawn chairs.
