Rotary International is a worldwide civic organization that strives to make a difference throughout the world by donating time and money to causes such as polio eradication, clean water projects, world peace initiatives, etc. Rotary International makes a difference in local communities by working through local Rotary clubs, such as the Martin Rotary Club in Martin. To support both their local and international efforts, Rotary International raises money through donations to the Rotary Foundation. Whenever a donation is made of $1,000 or more to Rotary International on behalf of a Rotary member, then that member is given the designation of “Paul Harris Fellow,” which is a reference to the founder of Rotary International almost a hundred years ago, Paul Harris.
