Hunter Hynds Unit meets Posted: Thursday, June 10, 2010 8:57 pm Hunter Hinds Unit of United Methodist Women met in May at Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with 10 members present. President Chris Cheatham called the meeting to order and Becky Barnes led the unit in prayer, following the expression of many prayer concerns. The membership recited the unit’s purpose and Sandra McTurner presented the prayer calendar and read scripture from Luke 2:25-38. Rosemary Coleman thanked the unit for presenting her with a hat belonging to the late Hunter Hynds. She said she used it to complement her Easter decorations. Linda Winstead represented the unit at the Food and Faith Study, held at Dresden United Methodist Church and Mrs. Winstead announced an upcoming homecoming concert by the David Johnson Chorus at Dresden Elementary School. Mrs. Cheatham tied the Response Moment to her program, with a scripture choice of Psalm 92:14. Mrs. Coleman, Roberta Peacock, Mrs. Barnes, Leanne Parnell, Mrs. Winstead and Mrs. Chea-tham read selections from “Chicken Soup for the Golden Soul.” The focal point for the program was a symbolic representation of aging.
